Hi all! I know it’s been awhile since I’ve blogged but please know that it has not been far from my mind! I’ve even been thinking about expanding into some other topics to cover on the blog. Which led me to becoming a member of Influenster! I am a self-proclaimed product junkie and who wouldn’t want to have an opportunity to try out new things and of course share what you think?!
So today’s post is about my first Voxbox from Colgate! It comes right on time, for being in the midst of my summer break, I still have lots of places to go and people to see. Being so fresh and so clean is on the top of the list when it comes to that! In the Voxbox, I received the Colgate Total 12 hour MouthWash in Peppermint Blast. What I really like most about this mouthwash is that is does not contain alcohol, therefore, it does not have that medicine like taste and I’m then able to swish it around a lot longer in mouth for a greater effect. The Hubbs agreed that he liked that as well. Also, this made you want to use it twice a day, like the bottle asks and of course recommended by your dentist (smile). The mouthwash was a great addition to my mouth hygiene routine because it left my mouth even more refreshing after brushing my teeth, especially after meals. I know I might sound like a commercial, but this honestly is a good product. But like with anything else, there is a negative. The bottle says that your breath should stay refreshed, when used at least twice daily, even after eating and drinking. I have not yet experienced that but it doesn’t deter me from using the product and looking to purchase more of our own when this one is gone.
I would give this product a MochaChic rating of out of 5! Enjoy!
Living in the Sunshine,
* I received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.
It’s Wednesday and you know that means it can just be whateva….Enjoy!
Music of the day: Sometimes you just need to feel the love….
Project: I can’t wait to try this out very soon! So simple….and pretty…
Quote of the Day: Because sometimes you just need words that speak to your soul…
Looking to make some changes and starting with the woman in the mirror! How was your Wednesday? What did you say “whateva” to?
Peace, Life, Love, Faith
With Wednesday being a “hump day” you just have adopt an attitude of “Whateva”. This means that you will not let anything get to you…no worries, no cares…just whateva! Today was my first day back to work since my surgery and I admit that it was a pretty good, lowkey one so it was easy for me to have a whateva attitude. In my quest to have a little more consistency on this blog…I’m going to treat Wednesdays with a Whateva attitude and post some things that I just wanted to share and it may spark inspiration or speaks as a little window into my life. Enjoy and please share your thoughts!
Song of the Day:
“Hello” by T.I. & CeeLo (because I can not worry myself with the judgement of others and it’s hello to a new year!)
I’m always looking to reach out to my creative side and find fun, usable DIY type projects. My latest excursion was for a Christmas Gift/Token Exchange, I made these bracelets for my girls to use as a pop of color and interest when layering with other bracelets. I think they really liked them and it was an easy, fun project! Looking forward to making some for me (I will post more on this later)!

What I’m reading:
Although I belong to a bookclub that meets monthly (Brunch & Books), I also like to read other tomes on the side. We currently read, ” Twelve Tribes of Hattie” by Ayana Mathis and will discuss next Saturday for our meeting (will let you know what we thought!), but I’m also reading “I Declare: 31 Promises to Speak Over Your Life” by Joel Olsteen. I enjoy reading his devotional messages and my father gave me the book as a Christmas gift…very excited and right on time! I think it is the perfect way for me to begin the year and to use a foundation for this month. What else is good to read??
Favorite part of the Day:
Seeing these two…
How was your Wednesday?

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! *in my best singing voice, which still isn’t that great*
How appro is it that the first day of Christmas (in the twelve day sequence) this year is 12.12.12!! This will be the last time this happens in our lifetime…and I know some people are wondering what is the big “hype” of the day, well you have to admit that it’s so cool to see the date lined up in that way. However, in some ways it does feel magical, especially since we are in the Christmas season! I am finally feeling in the spirit…tree has been trimmed (with a few more things left to add…), I’m beginning to “shop” seriously for gifts and thinking of what people would like to receive. The joyfulness of the season is beginning to take effect on me!
One of my favorite carols has always been The Twelve Days of Christmas and I would imagine receiving those gifts on each day. If my love was to purchase them for me today at cost it would come to a grand total of $107,300.24. WOW!! That is crazy…but instead I would settle for a simple gift that reflects us and what we share instead. With this in mind…I decided to give him a gift each day leading up to Christmas to celebrate us, the season, and a culmination to this year. ‘Tis the Season! Enjoy…

My sister will be the first to tell you that I am a product queen…therefore looking into the products to help me on my hair journey was fun! She would also tell you that I believe the product will do what it says on the label about 90% of the time…lol.
So off I went to reading hair growth blogs, asking advice, and of course, reading & researching labels! So I settled finally on the following items:
L to R: EVOO & MORINGA Repair and Extend Hair Butter; Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan oil; Organix Nourshing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum; Creme of Nature Moroccan Oil Conditioner; Organix Coconut Milk Conditioner; Creme of Nature Moroccan Oil Shampoo; Heritage Grapeseed Oil; Carol’s Daughter Lisa’s Hair Exlir; Glasses of Water (not pictured- Biotin tablets)
Yes!!! Excited! So my plan is to use the Grapeseed Oil and the Lisa’s Hair Exlir as a hot oil treatment (will start out doing these every other week) and weekly washes with the shampoo and conditioners (will make them a deep condition with the grapeseed oil on the off weeks from the oil treatments), daily moisturizing with the hair butter and sealed with the Moroccan oil and Coconut Milk oil. And of course beautiful hair starts within so my Biotin tablets and glasses of water will help with that part! Can’t wait to see the results. I also want to add just one more product to the line up…will purchase some Carol’s Daughter Monoi Repairing Split End Sealer…read below about it to see why! And, yes…I believe it might do a little something something! HA!
MONOI REPAIRING SPLIT END SEALER
1.7 FL OZ
Seal 93.3% of split ends instantly with this repairing lotion that binds the separated ends of hair so you can skip the trim & keep the length. • Monoi Oil repairs hair damage • Carob Seed Extract binds hair fibers together • Babassu Oil helps strengthen hair’s structure from within
So as you can see, I’ve been busy and taking the care of my hair seriously…will keep you posted on the journey!
What do you use and swear by for the care and growth of your hair???! Please share! Thanks…
This week, taking care of home has meant spending time tending to our marriage…goes with the saying…you reap what you sow. I make sure to sow good, positive, and foundation building seeds into our marriage daily so that in the future, we have great things to reap from it. One such “seed” is since marrying, starting our mornings with prayer. Now it is so much a part of our routine that the day doesn’t feel “right” if it is not commenced this way!
Any married person could tell you that praying only once a day, specifically for your marriage, is not enough! When I got engaged, a good friend and now line sister of mine, gave me a book that I “lean” on quite a bit. It is “The Power of a Praying Wife” by Stormie Omartian. It is so helpful to have a resource of sorts to go to. It doesn’t have all of the answers to life’s questions on marriage, but definitely provides a prayer that help to guide me. The prayers mainly focus on me praying for my husband and most importantly how to pray for him, but it also gives me some support as a wife, that you are not alone in this.
So this evening, it struck me…what about my husband learning to pray for me and our marriage? Therefore, I have gifted him with his own copy of “The Power of a Praying Husband”. I hope that he finds support and understanding in its pages like I have found in the accompanying book. I know that women are not easy to live with nor understand! Smile…however, since he has made the promise to be united with me, why not give him “tools” to help?! I will keep you all posted on what we learn and how this impacts us…remember, prayer changes everything!
As a NewlyWifed chic, I am always looking into resources to help create for us a strong foundation and keep us intune with each other…so what other resources are there that you know of? As always, thanks for sharing!
Peace, Life, Love, Faith
Yesterday, I spent most of the day being a Domestic Diva…washing/folding laundry, cleaning/sprucing things up around the house, even some tasks I hate (cleaning bathrooms 😛 ). I have been raised, I guess, that it is important for a woman to take diligent care of her surroundings, not just for her, but for the well-being of all that are in and visit her home. As I was “working”, I meant cleaning, it also occurred to me that “I” am “Home” also….
I then went to the mirror and of course did not completely like what I saw. It kind of hit me like a brick that I am in need of a makeover! Okay, the hair thing is kind of covered, since we are in the process of growing it (and possibly going natural-this is still up in the air!). So onto my clothing… I promptly went to look at magazines and Pinterest to see if I could come up with some ideas….Here are a couple of things I saw that caught my eye.
And of course shoes…which might have to be another post, for we have a special relationship and I would purchase them over anything else! LOL
But at least these pics are an inspiration and just the beginning of me kicking this “taking care of home” journey off to a great start! What else do you do to take care of your home (your physical space and your bodily one)??
